Being At The Bottom

Greetings... Here a little update on my company inter department soccer tournament.

A week before while i was away in KL, our team managed to snatch a 1-0 win, and grabbed all the precious 3 points. Though it was a narrow escape, undeservely won, a slim victory; at least we didnt end the game empty handed. We got lucky. I suppose the match would be much more of a fair result if it ended in a draw.

Second match of the day was totally different. Without any substitution and all 8 players had run out of stamina and energy, we lost 4-0. Couldnt be blamed because we had 2 matches in the same evening. Meanwhile, last Saturday was terrible, horrible and vegetable. Started off with confidence, but ended in 5-0 defeat. Sigh. Lack of class, coordination and composure. We were shaky from the start and easily rattled. It was a poor performance.

The 6 teams tournament ended with us at the bottom of the table. Well, it didnt look too embarrassing for us since we still have 3 points. Overall... 5 games played, 1 win, 0 draw, 4 defeats, 2 goals scored, 20 goals conceded, thats negative 18 goals difference!!!, and 3 points. ARGGHHH!!! We were so outplayed and outcast, so overwhelmed by losses.

Despite being last, we still walk home with a piece of face towel for each of us as a consolation price...

Suddenly the gloomy clouds in me vanished when i realized that being at the bottom of league doesnt seem too ugly or unpleasant. In fact, it does carries along some merit points. Why? If we happened to compete again next season, which i seriously doubt many would participate, we can start off with absolutely NO PRESSURE! NO STRESS! Since we're the last team, there's aint any worst-er we can get.

In English language. There's bad, worse, and worst. Considering being the team scoring the lowest points in the table, there's no doubt we are the worst among those 5. Thus, regardless on how we perform in the following year, there's no way we can be worst-er. We could then fight with nothing to lose.

Maybe, just maybe, we could name ourselves Gaya FC. Going out with all the GAYA-ness. LOL.

Alchemy or al-kimia, that many once known, is the art of transformation and transmutation. The ability to manipulate objects and transform one object into another. However the process does come with a cost thought, the basic law of alchemy state in order to gain something you have to sacrifice something of the same value. Gosh, im still very into FMA.

Although football is nothing like alchemy, but i believe everything comes with a price to pay. Libran's scale, a balance. Success doesnt come rolling, hard work comes before glory. With all the lost we had gone through, we do gain something in return. An experience. Satu pengajaran. The values of it depend on how each individual would define and reckon. Its a place where we could evaluate and examine ourselves.

YES, we lost, thats the blunt fact. However still, everyone went home with a smile on their face. They may sigh a little, but its still worthy for a good joke and laugh. I know there are 3 members who lose their McD's bet to our bookie, thats 3 McD burgers. LOL. Nonetheless, we went through good and bad times as a team, as a squad. Strengthening our togetherness.

It was fun.

6-1. We Scored A Goal

Second match was against Power FC. Heading to the field, there are only several conditions that we got to fulfill as a team. That is;

1. DO NOT concede any goal in the first 15 seconds.
2. Although many pundits believe we're going to lose, but still we have to keep the score line to the minimum. DO NOT let the opponent score more than 5 goals.
3. AT LEAST, at least, try to get a goal.

The match kicked off with us without any substitute player on the pitch. With just couple of seconds after the first whistle was blew, there was a massive clash on the field. Our midfielder, AhYong, and the opponent knock on each other's head!

The match was immediately put on a halt as soon as the referee saw AhYong's head bleeding. He was then sent to the nearby clinic for treatment. Thinking that we probably got it worst, but hell no, the opponent player had his tooth broken! His gums were bleeding as well.

One. Two. Three. Slowly and gradually, we started to concede goals again. One after another. Towards the end of the match, Gary made a good run pass the defender and slot the ball perfectly to AhChua. And with the finest touch, we scored.

GOAL!!!

We scored a goal. The moment we scored, all the other team players cheer for us! They were supporting us from behind even they will be our opponent next week. They cheer for us. Hailing our team, HUA HEE HUA HEE!!!. It was the sweetest moment so far.

In the end, we managed to grab a consolation goal, but we conceded 6. Yup, the final score is 6-1. LOL. But all of us are very happy. Though we lost, but we scored. Hahaa. A sign of improvement... ^^

A Moment Of Disgrace

The score line was 5-0. A big number of 5 for Tak Fit FC, and i guess you would have known how much it is for our team. Sigh.

It only took them 15 seconds to open the account. Before we could recover and salvage an equalizer, they blasted another low drive into the bottom corner of our net and made it two. We were clearly outcast and could only pray for the half time to appear anytime sooner. Monopolizing every part of the game, terrorizing the midfields, walking through our defenses. It was a total disgrace when it ended 5-0. Men versus kids. Thats how it is.

Here in my blog, i would like to take this opportunity to say, "Im Sorry". Its a sense of guilt im having. I understood that many came to support us, despite their very own hectic schedule and distances they need to travel. With the match ended in a disappointment, they could still cheering and giving us words of encouragement. They have been great. Thanks for supporting us. I appreciate it very much.

banyak gaya, tapi bola tak nampak

Life isnt always a bed of roses, so do success doesnt come rolling. Perhaps at this phase of life, GOD would want us to experience something unusual, something different. By allowing us to go through humiliation and embarrassment, we could then see our faults and flaws. Telling us how we can improve; learn from our mistakes; buckle up; prepare for the next game.

Its only when you fall, you could grow up. Be tough and be strong. It makes you wiser; a better man.

Preview Of Hua Hee FC First Match

Here i am again, talking about soccer. I participate in the inter department football tournament. It will be held every Saturday until 13th June '09.

Unlike the common matches where there's going to be starting 11, the tournament only allow us to field 8 aside, including the goalkeeper. And another 7 as substitute players. Its a league match, with only 6 team registered themselves. How little in a league. 3 points for the winning side, 1 point for draw and may GOD have mercy for those who lost against their opponent. 15 minutes in each half. Unlimited substitution can be made.

Usually i fancy more of attacking role. Not that im good in dribbling or playing wide, but because i enjoy charging up front and slip between the defenders. However, its been ages since i last actually played, so i place myself with more with defensive duties. Im playing at wing back, flexible at both left and right. Wasnt bad isnt it? Portraying as one of my favourite player, Gael Clichy.

We had a briefing earlier today on the tactics and strategies that we should deployed. It looks positive to me. The potential of getting the 3 points is there. At the end of today, its down to us. We need to play as a team. Its doesnt matter with winning or losing, as long as we try our best and challenge the limit. Play with believe and confidence. Take every chance that comes along the way. Its a big day for everyone of us.

Like the motto,
Kalah Tak Apa, Gaya Mest Ada!
Nono, thats not our motto. We havent think of any...

Its our first tournament in the league, first match. And its always important to start the game in a constructive manner by obtaining all the maximum points. It sets the momentum and power that could hopefully drive us towards the end, and hit it with a bang. Oh yea, did i mention whats our team's name? Its Hua Hee FC. Yea, dont sweat with me. Our captain is the one who decides the name. I guess he was trying to imply the images to us that; we are here to have a good game of football.

Date: 23 May 2009 @ 4:50PM
Subject: Hua Hee FC vs Tak Fit FC
Location: Sekolah Rendah Bukit Gelugor

That's the details for tomorrow's match. Do feel free to drop me comments or words of encouragement. Wish me luck, i need plenty of them... bucketful. I shall post another entry after the match on the result. Till then, take care. Have a pleasant day.

Midnight Blue

Stylish isnt it? Its the new away jersey for 2009/10. Its called, Midnight Blue. Though it looks a little weird with blue, but still, it looks good. ^^

Captian Fabregas in Midnight Blue

the Russian playmaker, Andrey Arshavin

Eduardo celebrating his superb goal with fellow teammates

the young Theo Walcott

Those images were taken from Arsenal FC website.

With them looking rather confident and amazing in those jerseys, how i hope and pray that Arsenal could lift at least a trophy next season. Decorate their cabinets with a silverware.

I got this weird feeling in my tummy. It feels like i've seen these photos somewhere. Not that i dreamt of these images before, but the figures and silhouette are indeed very familiar. Its like the photos taken from previous winning matches, and with some magics and wonders of Adobe Photoshop to create these photos.

In Memory Of Mitre

I had a good game of football today and scored quite a handful of goals. A Pre-Chinese New Year match with only 10 of us turning up for the game. 5 a side and we start kicking.

24 January 2009. That was the last service my boots gave me... Thank you.

Worn out

I guess i wont be considering getting myself a new pair of boots since we seldom play anymore. I'll use other pairs of shoe...

Arsenal FC: The Beautiful Game

Arsenal... where had it all went wrong? A constant question without definate answer.

Looking back on those years where the non-flying dutchman Bergkamp partnering king Henry threatening the defence. My idol Pires, launching attacks on the left flank and Ljungberg on the right wing menacing the penalty box. With great captaincy of Vieira handling the team responsibility, while lynchpin Gilberto will be holding defence duty on this shoulder. Cole and Lauren charging up front with every opportunity. Solid defending by Campbell and Toure and great hand keeping by Lehmann.

It is almost a perfect combination. Inch perfect passing. Great one-two. Toying the defence. And the next thing you know... its a GOAL!!! Having played mesmerizing and breath-taking football, many agreed that they are one of the best in Europe. Dangerous on counter attacks and their favourite left side of the field. It was these great men dominating EPL and handed professor Wenger with a season unbeaten. They were named, The Invinsible.

The compilation below is one of the prove that many enjoy watching Arsenal.

Arsenal FC: The Beautiful Game

What happened to the Invinsible? Wherever they had gone to, i, Dann, salute them. *respect*

Back to earth... Arsenal, stop showing me shit-ty stuffs. Play at your top gear and fight for the crown!!!

I got myself featured in my friend's blog. Im now floating... *phew* *phew*

Euro 2008 Champion

The Euro 2008 just ended last night with a sweet victory for the Spaniards. A 1-0 truimph over the Germans at Vienna.

It was in the first half on 22nd minute played, a sublime header from Fernando Torres came off the far post stunned many of the fans. Like the rest of the world, i too hold my hands together praying, looking disbelieve at the harsh reality. It was a perfect header though the goalkeeper may claim that he had it well covered.

Just when you thought that the Lady Luck was against them, something magical happened. In the 33rd minute, Fernando Torres picked up a through pass from Xavi Hernandes after a slight hustle against the Germans' left back Philipp Lahm, and chipped it over the on coming Jens Lehmann.

It was then the whole arena was filled with roaring cheer and applause. I could even hear my next-door neighbors screaming in joy. I cant be the same, for my parents gonna kill me for waking them up. LOL!!!

El Nino, or better known as Fernando Torres who scored the winning goal.

For a country who suffered a 44 years of misery being rated underachieved had finally silence the critics. Lifting the trophy was indeed a major success for them, rewriting the history. They deserve it.

Unfortunately Cesc Fabregas was summoned to the bench in 63rd minute due to a tactical change. Though there's a sadness shown in his face, but it was okay. Looking back, he made a difference or should i say, immediate impact when he came off the bench against Russians. A massive inspirational efforts that send Spain to the final.

And here you have it, the Spanish titans on the top of Euro 2008 ladder.

the Celebration!!!

How glad am i able to watch it live. Moment like this doesnt always came by knocking at your door. Its like the time when AC Milan vs Liverpool in Champion League few years ago, that was truly one superb match.

Im now tired and sleepy. I dont think i have enough sleep though. Been a norm to me for a late night sleep and resting at 9, is just too drastic for a change. Got me hours of tossing and turning before i finally snooze off. That resulted a very minimal rest through out the night.

Shhh... i nearly caught a big fish in the office today. =x

With my endless yawns and gesture, my colleague Fish Tan, made me a laughing stock. He joked, "You look like a drug addict! The type where hungering for drugs yet cant have one. HAHAHAA!!!". Am i that horrible? LOL.

Last but not least...

SPAIN rocks!!!

As for now, i need to catch up on my lost rest...
Dann the Ninja!
