Spider-man Pays Off His Bill With A Drawing

If one day you end up broke, experiencing draught in your pocket, or in a huge debt that beyond your reach to settle, here's a solution you might want to give it a try... well, if it works on you.

The itsy bitsy spider
Crawled up the water spout
Down came the rain
And washed the spider out

Out came the sun
And dried up all the rain
So the itsy bitsy spider
Went up the spout again!

Apparently there is a guy named David Thorne have an outstanding amount of overdue payment $233.95. So the representative from the utility company, Jane Gilles, was send to follow up on the matter and inquire him to settle the payment within the next 7 days.

To her amusement, he replied the mail stating that he do not have any money, however he attached with a drawing, which he claimed to be worth $233.95. Theoretically, it doesnt make sense considering how possibly could a digital drawing cost that much. Plus, they cant accept the drawing as payment. Wondering how the drawing looks like?

Realizing that Jane Gilles couldnt be stupefied, David Thorne make another attempt to negotiate. Here what's he wrote in his mail.

Hello, I am back and have read through your emails and accept that despite missing a leg, that drawing of a spider may indeed be the one I sent you. I realise with hindsight that it is possible you rejected the drawing of a spider due to this obvious limb ommission but did not point it out in an effort to avoid hurting my feelings. As such, I am sending you a revised drawing with the correct number of legs as full payment for any amount outstanding. I trust this will bring the matter to a conclusion.

spider... with a new limb

Honestly speaking, he has a very tactful manner of writing... and very "mou liu". KEK AH!!!

Of cause, this matter doesnt came to a conclusion that early. David posted his spider drawing in eBay and guess how much he earned? $15,000!!! But a sad case, Patrick Munoz isnt going to pay a single penny, else it would be a real laughing stock. LOL.

Full email could be found in this link, and the article is here. Worth a read.

Thanks for the article. Very useful for me regarding the legal issues on the bid on eBay. It is purportedly a binding contract once the auction is concluded, yet they're just making a laughing stock out of it. I'll probably raise this issue to my fellow colleagues as well. Thanks for sharing.
