What A Day At Work

@#$%^&*()

They are the common sign of foul language in modern world of written communication. Those were also the em cheng keng stuff i learned from Lao Fu Zhe's comic. LOL. I could hardly read any of the characters, thus figures and facial expressions could only be the medium that measure my understanding in the comic.

I dont critisize nor say bad things about the comic. I know my shortcomings, but still, i enjoy reading them. Its part of my childhood entertainment. A reading leisure that i used to find in my grandparents' house. Those were the days...

Well, something happened today and got me all burning with anger. Got me really @#$%^&*()!!!

As a developer of a building, i dont draw out the blueprint. Like in Phua Chu Kang sitcom, Chu Beng design, Chu Kang built. Its that simple. When you're done with the floor plan and had submitted for work application, that it, full stop, a big dot, free exclaimation mark for you if you need it.

If you're complaining about the living room werent properly construct according to the layout, im willing to admit my mistake. I'll revamp, refurbish and renovate. But if after everything is completed; after the walls were being built, tiles being placed, bricks were being cemented, house being painted, then you tell me you want more wiring work and more sockets to be installed, that definitely going to get me and my workers freaking mad.

How is everything going to be? After this house, me and my employees are going to the next location to begin our work according to the schedule. Are you willing to pay more for extra wiring job? Are you willing to pay for the delay(s) on our next task or projects?

WTF???

One more thing. If you're want to put an aircon in your bathroom, thinking its hot in the summer and you might need to cool down a little while in the bathroom doing some summer concert, think again. Dont make some irrelevant request or unreasonable demands. Use your brain. Impacts it may cost; consequences it may bring. Kindly take note that flexibility and feasility doesnt get along together peacefully.

And yea... please do speak louder for GOD sake. I cant hear you!!!

I Fear...

Fear. I've been carrying this fear with me when i was small. Its not so much of a big deal until recently...

I've been having the intention to join my colleagues to Thailand this coming March, but my main concern is, *ahem* I cant swim. Hardly do i ever touch on water, except taking a shower. How am i going to survive if im in the middle of the ocean? Ya, laugh all you want. I've been expecting these as well since i post this entry.

I know its a shame for those who live in this island and know nothing about swimming. Called myself a beach boy, indeed, im a beach boy who runs on the beach... not swimming in the sea.

Was it the fear i had when i was small? Its so real that im unable to justify if its a personal experience or was it just another nightmare. The image of me drowning keeps appear before me. Feelings that are unable to describe. Afraid...

I persisted in acting like a naive child
...
I know that i cant be too dependant
Afraid that you would spoil me...

One need to grow up. About time to start walking now... If not now, then when? Sooner or later, even if i cant swim, at least i need to stay alive. No more of made fairy tale of mermaid saving me when im drown. Its been a burden for lifting the fear on my shoulder for so long now. Need to let go. Need to find the courage, else Koh Rok no more within my sight.

Ah Dann got to face his fear... rang wo men cheng zhe yang guang~~

And for the record ladies and gentlemen, there is no five-ple for five times or multiple of five. There may be single, double and triple, but there is no five-ple. That is the word we made it out ourselves.

It goes by single, double, triple, quadruple, quintuple, sextuple and so forth.

By the way, today is Friday the 13th. Its said to be an unlucky day, while for some, its an opposite to it. As plucked from Wikipedia;

  • In numerology, the number twelve is considered the number of completeness, as reflected in the twelve months of the year, twelve signs of the zodiac, twelve hours of the clock, twelve tribes of Israel, twelve Apostles of Jesus, twelve gods of Olympus, etc., whereas the number thirteen was considered irregular, transgressing this completeness. There is also a superstition, thought by some to derive from the Last Supper or a Norse myth, that having thirteen people seated at a table will result in the death of one of the diners.

  • Friday has been considered an unlucky day at least since the 14th century's The Canterbury Tales, and many other professions have regarded Friday as an unlucky day to undertake journeys or begin new projects. Black Friday has been associated with stock market crashes and other disasters since the 1800s. It has also been suggested that Friday was the day that Jesus was crucified.
The Last Supper

At the end of the day, its just another superstition...

Before Niu Year's Celebration End

Every Chinese new year, its been a customary for us to celebrate and welcome the new year until Chap Goh Meh, the 15th night. In these 15 days, certainly there's many adventures for me.

However this year, every joy and laughter will be accompanied with sighs and sorrow. Sometimes i wonder if all of this darkness of life is catching up just to keep them in the game.

Suddenly i realized that even for a famous restaurant, the response time they took in giving us the bill is 10 times more effective and efficient than cleaning up the table for us to sit. Despite for the delicious foods being served, i guess i could only give 3 out of 10 points for the service. Well, they doesnt include service charge, so i guess i couldnt complain much. As for the food, GOD its score pretty well. I give full marks. Ooo... tasty.

Ong Cheng Huat Seafood

Suddenly i realized that one of my colleague is afraid of dog when all of us Pai Ni at BeeLean's house. I better not mention his name, else he would give me more workload. Shhh...

pardon the blurriness, but the dog, Wisky, is so cute!!!

Suddenly i realized that the ice coffee in Black Canyon taste good. Its located in Aeon Jusco at Bandar Perda. The authentic tomyam is one of the best you can get in this area. Sour and spicy. Even with just a smell of it is enough to get you drooling. You just got to try it out.

thumb up for the drink

the green curry and the tomyam... a must try

Suddenly i realized that im not that lucky afterall. Police caught me on Sunday, red-handed. My offence: listening to hand phone while driving. I know its my fault. A bad timing. Why? Cause i dont fancy the idea of using hand free or bluetooth. Im more of the i'll-hold-the-phone-to-my-ear kind of person.

After a short convo with the police, he asked for my IC and driving license. "I beri you saman ya?". "Okay, fair enough", i said. Later i realized that im so STUPID!!! I SHOULD HAD APPEAL OR AT LEAST ASK FOR MERCY!!! After a minute of two with his paperwork, he let me go off with just a caution and warning. I guess Sor Yan Yau Sor Fook, in Canto. LOL.

On second thought, maybe im lucky. Cause i just Kui Tai Sui, in Hokkien, on last Saturday. Thank you Nizam!!! I guess its never too late to practice using the troublesome hand free set.

Suddenly i realized that Kek Lok Si is so beautiful when the lights were turned on. None the less, i cant help but burst into laughter looking at my friend's expression when we climbed up to the 7th floor of the pagoda. LOL. Just for the record, he's afraid of height.

under construction

suddenly this one looks a little too scary

moo moo~~

Kek Lok Si at its best

Suddenly i realized that please do not challenge the red light. I guess im also to be blamed in this incident. It really feels bad involving someone else in an accident. If only i keep my mouth shut, then it might be a sweet escape. Sorry sis. =(

Suddenly i realized that all of us could party until we forget that its already way past midnight. There were buffet dinner. There were gambling session, where many claimed that the Chong, in Hokkien, is their Choi San, in Canto. There were karaoke sessions. Not to forget, the drinking session. There were liquor, wisky, baileys, beers, wines and margaritas. GOD i was drunk that night and became the victim of alcohol. Drowsy...

cheers~~

When Snowfall Turns To Disaster

Refering to my dear's blog, United Kingdom is currently under massive snowfall. As reported from the news, "The heaviest snowfall in 18 years brought the nation to a standstill, crippling businesses, transport networks, hospitals and schools - and further hammering the recession-hit economy."

6.4 million workers were forced to stay at home by the insane weather. The roads, streets and tube were closed. Even the world's busiest terminal, Heathrow, was forced to close both its runways for several hours. The problems could get worse with more snow expected overnight and today, and the prospect of temperatures plummeting to -6C making the conditions even more icily treacherous.

dude... where's my car?

lovely plain white country...

For further reading, please go to this news. If we would ever wonder why this is happening, probably one of the many reasons would lead back to us. Global warming. We are the cause, and here is just a part of the consequences.

Despite the disaster that's hitting Britian, suddenly the Emirates Stadium looks much more beautiful when it snow...

the white snow blanketing Ashburton Grove

Emirates Stadium in white

Suddenly im reminded by this Christmas tune...
Oh the weather outside is frightful
But the fire is so delightful
And since we've no place to go
Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!

Another Hopeless Romantic

He was in the bus where this pretty young girl caught his attention. So all he could only do was to gaze at her, admiring the beauty in front of him. By the time she got off the bus, he was too late to approach her. It was then he thought... I Want To See You Again.

Being another of the hopelessly romantic person, he created a website with a sketch of her in the bus, and publicly seeking attention that he wants to meet her again. This is his webpage, so lets give him a helping hand shall we.

the sketch of her

Somehow this article relates to the newspaper i read while in London last month. The guys meet gals, gals meet guys in the subway, and post it in a small column in the local newspaper. It was kind of cute the way they wrote it. It goes like this;
To the cute guy in a black coat boarding the Piccadilly line on 3rd Jan at 5pm. I'm the girl in a red blouse with a dark brown jacket. We just smiled at each other, but I couldn't help but look at you. Can we go out for a drink some time?
I guess the chances are kind of slim, but still... However among thousands who voiced out, one did caught the eyes of many. This news was dated back in 2007 where the hopeless romantic found his mystery girl online. I guess that guy from Singapore do use the same idea. Would the same trick work twice? LOL. All the best!

P.S. Is it appropriate to address a guy as cute? Hmm... i wonder.

Another Update

Happy Chinese New Year ladies and gentlemen. Hows your celebration been? Mine been pretty good so far, not mentioning the windscreen issue.

Had a crazy party last Friday at Ms Ling's house. There's been a lot of liquors and wines. All the sights and sounds of new year, but least of fireworks. We started off by playing 007, which i said its underestimating my IQ, but still i end up drinking quite a lot. LOL.

It was really fun to have all of my colleagues gambling and drinking, non-stop yam seng till 1 in the morning. Some got their face looking red, while some were high. Of cause, the party doesnt end there, next Saturday on 7th Feb, Ms Sharon would organize another Chinese New Year party at her house. And again, i bet it would be another of a great party.

Besides partying, i went Pai Ni at my colleagues' house.

at Jessie's house

at my house with an empty table

Finally i managed to watch the great Red Cliff II and its so cool. I still remember because of this movie, i end up reading the history of The Romance Of Three Kingdom in Wikipedia. Before the night ends, we had big feast at InGolf German Restaurant.

full of colors... erm, tasty

P.S. Suddenly im craving for a cup of coffee at some cafe...
Dann the Ninja!
